The word of the month is LOYALTY.
Everyone has a team or player they are loyal to, unless you are a fairweather fan and then loyalty is a moving target. That’s not my point, back to it, The day after the baseball All Star game is unique, in fact , it is one out of 365. Today is the only day of the year there are no professional sports or college sports being played, no professional golf, no Nascar, not even a professional bowling or dart tournament. This means our sports loyalties are in suspended animation;
So while I may have your undivided attention or at least your next 5 minutes, lets talk loyalty.
a faithfulness that is steadfast in the face of any temptation to renounce, desert, or betray; a pretty good definition if I don’t say so myself. Applying that, lets see where your loyalties are placed and where they may have become muddled, watered down or just plain misplaced.
My loyalty has gotten my ass kicked, literally, but I wouldn’t change a thing, My loyalty defines me and I will defend it till there isn’t a tooth left in my head.
Loyalty to my pursuit of my spirituality, I do think I am a spiritual being having a minor physical experience.
Loyalty to my family, I didn’t choose you, but I am willing to stand with you in the fire, in the rain, the sun and through our differences.
Loyalty to the truth, I was raised to tell the truth and call out a lie. That road I will always walk, if it means I am the only one on it.
Loyalty to Love, yes that word should always be capitalized; love brought me into this world, it flows to me, through me, from me and nothing is more important to me.
Loyalty to an open mind, my curiosity, learning. Being flexible, adaptable, resilient; that is a FAR philosophy that will get you , well, far.
Loyalty to the needs of others and how I can carry, ease, dispel, or at least understand their pain.
Loyalty to my country, ask not what America can do for you, but what you can do for America. Spoken by a man that died for his country.
Loyalty to hope over fear, fear is what leads us to the slaughter.
Loyalty to the diversity of humanity; we are one, but not a single one, our differences are our strength, seek to understand not to judge or label. Walk a mile in their shoes.
Loyalty to humility, gratitude, forgiveness, kindness, compassion, empathy. If that needs explaining, well, let’s hope not.
Loyalty to this planet, my only home, I try everyday to leave it better than I woke up to find it. Environmental threats are real, resources belong to us all, water is a finite substance, sunlight is our gift of energy, We should all be screaming for solar power, screaming for the elimination of nuclear weapons, screaming for humanity to remember we are just one of a million species and we need to all work to reverse the damage our thoughtlessness has inflicted; Before it is too late
In case you are wondering, I am loyal to the Ga Bulldogs, The Braves, the Falcons, the PGA tour, and the Savannah Bananas.
love it!!!!
